Szczecin Shipyard "Wulkan" will participate in the European supply chain as a partner for the 1,000 MW Thor offshore wind farm owned by RWE

Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan” hereby announces its involvement in the construction of the 1,000 MW THOR offshore wind farm owned by RWE.

Based on the recently signed contract with Dajin Offshore, Shipyard “Wulkan” is responsible for the supply of internal platform packages.

Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan” facility is well prepared for the production of secondary steel structures and large steel structures.

About the Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan”

Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan” develops its activities in the production of steel structures for the maritime, offshore and onshore industries for global customers. The strategy of the “Wulkan” Shipyard is strongly related to key assets that are dedicated to complete large ships and steel structures with a unit weight of up to 4,500 tons. As part of this plan, the construction of offshore wind substations, as well as other large-scale offshore components for the European and US market. Shipbuilding activities will focus on the merchant fleet, as well as offshore wind energy vessels, such as “walk to work” vessels.

Key advantages of the shipyard:

  • 1 Platform for assembly and loading of roro or SPMT up to 4,500 tons,
  • 2 semi-dry slipways for building new ships,
  • 600 m of quays for outfitting and loading,
  • 10,000 sqm shot-blasting and coating halls certified by FROSIO,
  • 80,000 sqm production halls with cranes with a lifting capacity of 60-240 tons.
