44th anniversary of the signing of the August Accords

At noon, at the gate of the Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan”, ceremonies were held to commemorate the 44th anniversary of the signing of the August Agreements. It was a unique event during which the employees of Shipyard,  paid tribute to the participants of the historical events of August 1980.

The August Accords, signed in 1980, were a milestone on the road to democratic change in Poland. Commemorating this anniversary in Szczecin, a city with deep roots in the history of Solidarity, is an expression of respect for those who fought for freedom and workers’ rights.

The ceremonies at the gate of Shipyard  gathered not only employees but also residents of the city, who jointly paid tribute to the heroes of those days. During the event, the significance of the August Agreements and their influence on contemporary Poland were recalled.
